Need a grant?Grant making is the cornerstone of the Foundation's purpose. They turn ideas into reality.
Grant applications may be submitted for educational programs that adhere to the Foundation's funding guidelines. Organizations that may make application include Canton municipal departments, Canton Public Schools, places of worship (for programs offered to the entire community) or Canton non-profit, 501 (c)(3) designated organizations.
Applicaton Deadline Each Year:
The First Monday in May
Grants will be awarded based on:
- Enrichment: What is the educational merit of the project? Does it add depth to the curriculum?
- Impact: How many students and/or community members will it reach? Is there collaboration among grades, classes, curricular teams and/or the community?
- Innovation: Is it cutting-edge or unique?
- Sustainability: Can it continue on its own?
After reading, please complete the
GRANT APPLICATION. Grant requests will not be accepted for evaluation without the application completed. Our grant committee will notify you if we require additional information to begin the evaluation process.
One year after the award of the grant, the grantee will be required to complete the
GRANT REPORT FORM. This report helps CEF evaluate the effectiveness of a grant.

C.H.E.E.R! for EducationThank that special someone with a donation that gives back!
Are you looking for a way to say“Thank You”to a particular teacher, school staff member or other friend of education? The Canton Education Foundation offers a way to recognize these special people through theC.H.E.E.R!program.
When you make a donation to C.H.E.E.R!, the Canton Education Foundation sends a specially-designed certificate to the honoree with the donor’s name included. The minimum is $10 per honoree, but no mention of the donation amount is made to your honoree(s). All proceeds from this program will directly benefit the Canton community through grants that fund innovative and creative educational projects in our schools and throughout our community. Honoring a special educator is a great way to say “Thank You.”
Teachers, bus drivers, custodians, nurses, secretaries, librarians, administrators, room parents, Canton employees and volunteers can all be honored.
Please consider contributing to the Canton Education Foundation in honor of that special person who has helped make a difference in your life or the life of your child.
